Vibraphonist Rick Glascock brings a blend of soulful bebop soloing with a modern edge to his performances. Originally from San Francisco, Rick studied jazz and contemporary chamber music at the University of California at San Diego and at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He then spent 5 years in Guadalajara, Mexico as principal percussionist with the Jalisco State Philharmonic Orchestra and was vibist and leader of a popular jazz ensemble, The Jazz Connection.
In Austin, Rick can be heard with Global Soul as well as his own group, Vibracious. He is co-founder of the Austin Jazz Project, a summer workshop for highschool age musicians. From 1997 - 2002 he was music director of the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble.
